There are several compelling reasons to back up your Microsoft 365 data. Many Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 customers/users opt to store their data locally “at home” within their infrastructure, ensuring they have a copy of their data. Others leverage Microsoft Azure, using the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 template available in the Azure Marketplace.
When deciding the placement of servers, consider the final data repository location and the traffic flow Running the infrastructure on-premises and downloading all data, only to upload it again to an Azure blob container, might not be the most optimal choice.
Recommendations:
- Microsoft Azure: Choose an appropriate machine type (F or D-Type) for best performance. Machine type B is not recommended due to CPU-limitations.
