Granular item restore
Explorer for SharePoint relies on the ability to restore data from the related Microsoft SQL database. Refer to the corresponding section of this guide on best practices to SQL Server restore for details relevant to that process.
Note that for Microsoft SharePoint item restores, a MSSQL staging server is always required (this is different from restoring MSSQL items or databases, where a staging server is required for point-in-time restores only).
