Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC)

The best practice is to use Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC) as a core element of any service provider offering, including Service Provider Data Protection.

VSPC is essential and acts as a central point of reference for customer billing and monitoring.

Self-Service Backup Management

Different self-service capabilities can be exposed using the VSPC portal and Enterprise Manager Self-Service portal.

  • If self-service restore is required, Enterprise Manager (standalone or plugin) must be used for job management and restore operations.
Keep in mind that all jobs created in Enterprise Manager must be mapped to the correct company in VSPC. This can be done manually or using a community-based script.

  • If self-service restore is not required, job management can be done using VSPC. In this case, Hosted VBR resources must be allocated to the company. The process is described in the user guide.

Architecture

Currently, any type of VSPC deployment requires a full Veeam Cloud Connect architecture on the backend (VCC Server and VCC Gateway).

The best practice is to have a normal deployment of VSPC and VCC, as described in MSP/Production. This will simplify the extension of services provided by a service provider at later stages.
Basic architecture recommendations and principles of VSPC deployment are covered in the MSP/Build section of the guide.

However if SPDP is the only use case, to reduce the number of components, it is possible to use an all-in-one deployment for the VCC environment. In this case VSPC and VCC deployment still should be isolated.
