Throttling

When handling a lot of SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business backups you might encounter the Microsoft 365 throttling mechanism. By default, an organization is added to VB365 using a single backup account or backup application to handle all backup operations.

This default is at the same time the best practice and complies with Microsoft’s recommendations.

• For larger customers, to reduce throttling on the initial full run, add up to 5 backup accounts/applications.
