Off-Site Backup services must maintain maximum uptime to meet customer expectations. Achieving this requires implementing redundancy for all critical components and establishing clear recovery procedures for single points of failure:

• Cloud Gateways: Deploy N+2 gateways per gateway pool to enable automatic load balancing and failover.

• Cloud Connect server: The VBR server represents a single point of failure requiring protection through multiple strategies. Available mitigation strategies include:

  • Deploy as a virtual machine to leverage HA, Fault Tolerance, or similar technologies.
  • Configure frequent configuration backups stored in a secure and easily accessible location.
  • Maintain a replica of the machine ready to be used.
  • Maintain a spare Windows server with pre-installed Veeam Backup & Replication for rapid deployment using configuration backup restore.
